There’s this little scene in Friends when Rachel has had a fight with her spoilt-rotten sister and as they make up, she says to her:
“I kept trying to make you a better person, but you’re… you’re already a pretty perfect version of what you are.”
And it somehow stuck because I guess, it’s not always easy to be “the best version of ourselves”. Society, disappointments, hurt taught us that sometimes being ourselves is really not desirable. And it’s easy to lose sight of who we really are, what we really want.
And if one’s achieved to be “the perfect version of oneself”, I consider that as a huge victory.
So good on Amy for getting and staying there.
